Multiplatformsetup x64 and x86 software by single setup

Hi,

I have to put our 32 and 64bit software setup together into one single setup. So I have two features "Software (x86)" and "Software(x64)". For each feature I ask by dialog for a target dir (TARGET_32 and TARGET_64). I am installing the files for the x86 software i.e. to "$TARGET_32$\test.exe" and for the x64 files to "$TARGET_64$\test.exe". For debugging I added messageballoons that show the content of TARGET_32 and TARGET_64 during the setup process.

The content of the variables is correct but x86 and x64 files are installed to $TARGET_32$ and I don't know why. Is the way I configured the setup best practise or how can I achieve a multiplatform setup?

Are you using the Set 64 Bit Mode command at all?

Yes. I am using it to pre set my $TARGET_32$ and $TARGET_64$ directories:

Set Variable TARGET_32 to $PROGRAMFILES$APP_TITLE$
...
Set x64 - Native 64 bit Windows, AMD64 and EM64T Architectures - installation mode
Get Folder Location System->Program Files Directory into PROGRAMFILES
Set Variable TARGET_64 to $PROGRAMFILES$APP_TITLE$
Set Win32 - Native 32 bit Windows and Windows 32 on Windows 64 (WOW64) - installation mode

and during the installation:

Code: Select all

Get Component Test (64bit) Selection State into Variable SELECTED
  if Variable SELECTED Equals TRUE
    Set x64 - Native 64 bit Windows, AMD64 and EM64T Architectures - installation mode
    MessageBalloon: Installing component Test (64bit), Installing to: $TARGET_64$
    Install Files C:\tmp\src64\*.* to $TARGET_64$, include subfolders
...
  end
  Get Component Test (32bit) Selection State into Variable SELECTED
  if Variable SELECTED Equals TRUE

The Baloons tell me the correct paths but the installers copies the files to $TARGET_32$ and mixes the 32 and 64bit component. I really have no idea what I am missing.
