Install ODBC driver question

Postby bendrouet » Wed Feb 08, 2006 4:46 am

Hi,

I have to install under conditions the Microsoft Jet Driver for Access database 3.5.

I use the DLL "Odbcjt35.dll" as the driver DLL and the setup DLL in the parameters of the "Install ODBC driver" function of IA script.
This DLL is stored on my computer and appears in the compression process when the SFX exe is generated.

The target Folder of the DLL is $WINSYSDIR$. I think it is the right one.
The attributes parameters which will be copied in the ODBC.ini are the following:

Driver=odbcjt35.dll
Setup=odbcjt35.dll
APILevel=1
ConnectFunctions=YYN
DriverODBCVer=02.01
FileExtns=*.mdb
FileUsage=2
SQLLevel=0

This command "Install ODBC Driver" is executed in the [OFFLINE CONTENT] section of the script.

So I take my exe and run it on a Windows 95 VmWare system and an error message (because on a blank machine, conditions are satisfied to install the Microsoft Jet Driver for Access database 3.5) like this :

"Error installing ODBC driver: Microsoft Access Driver 3.5 (*.mdb), ODBC error 13: Impossible to load the Install or converter library. Verify that the file Microsoft Access Driver 3.5 (*.mdb) exists and that you can access."

To avoid this message I wrote a InstallFile command just before the Install ODBC file command with the odbcjt35.dll to the $WINSYSDIR$ target folder. But I have always this message when I tried to install the program on W95 VmWare.

I do not know what I do wrong ?

Thank you.

Since you are already installing the file on the target system as part of the Install ODBC Driver command, I believe the driver file might be having other unsatisfied dependencies - maybe issues that are encountered only on Windows 95, but requirements for that platform nonetheless?
