Compiler Variables in Dialog Sequence

Post by ckaware »

Hello,

Based on the documentation compiler variables are "dereferenced" using #VARIABLE#.

When I try using #VARIABLE# on the Welcome screen GUI Dialog, it doesn't resolve #VARIABLE# and it actually displays "#VARIABLE#."

I'm trying to replace $COMPANY$ with #OEM_LONG# where #OEM_LONG# is set at the command line build to something like "Company X."

What's the best method of doing this?

I could set another $VARIABLE$ to #VARIABLE#, but is this recommended/ necessary?

Thanks,

Chris.

Dear Chris,

I am not sure this is possible. Please try the workaround you suggest and let me now if it works for you!

Setting $OEM_LONG$ to #OEM_LONG# does "fix" the issue.
Is there a reason we can't deference these compiler variables here?

Dear Chris,

Compiler variables are simply restricted to MSIcode.
