Trying to read the System Locale

Greetings,
My apologies but I need to know how I would read the system locale - not the language setting of the machhine, but the system locale. One way i have thought of was doing a command call of systeminfo searching for System Locale, but I can't believe there isn't a more reliable way to get this information through Installaware.

I thought to also try to use the registry item: HKCU\Control Panel\International. But the locale shows En even though my System Locale is set to Turkish. Could someone recommend a way that I could read the system locale info.

What I am trying to do is get this value and if it is anything other than 1033 (or 0x0409) I do not install a certain set of files that are US only.

Did you try the script function "Get System Settings" => "Language (Numeric)". I think that is what you need if you have to decide which language the user is working with.

Yes, that is what I was originally using, but found that it's looking at the language setting for the formats or the location. I need the default system locale that the system is originally set with. For example, I can have a Turkish System Locale (because I live in Turkey, but use the English formats and keyboard setting). I need to know that the machine's locale is default set to turkey so I don't install certain things to the machine.

Dear Sheree,

You would have to figure out where this is stored in the registry - I tried to search for it for you but I was unable to find it.
Maybe try posting on a Microsoft MSDN forum..
