IA 11 not removing link from Add/Remove Programs on uninstal

I have built an IA 11 installation in Native mode. On Windows XP SP3 this installation installs fine. Uninstalling will remove everything but it leaves the entry in Add/Remove Programs. If the install is re-run it will bring up the Maintenance mode dialog. Any ideas what I should look for?

Hey Wayne,

Please try creating am empty setup from the Basic Setup template. Run this setup on the XP machine and let me know what you are experiencing.

Creating an empty "Native Setup" worked fine. so I now I guess I need to figure out what in my script is causing this problem. I suppose commenting out commands would be the easiest way to find it.

Yep, definitely.

It may also be caused by plugins you are using, just a thought.

This is driving me nuts. I have commented out almost everything. I am not using any plugins. Still no change. The Apply Uninstall returns "COMPLETE". Interestingly the uninstall under the PREREQ does remove the entry from Add/Remove programs. Any other ideas other than creating the install from scratch again?

Ok a little more data on this.

I do these steps:
1. Run the install (adds the entry in Add/Remove Programs).
2. Run the install again and Choose "Delete" (the entry remains in add/remove programs when complete)
3. Uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs (the entry remains in add/remove programs when complete)
4. Try to uninstall from Add/Remove Programs again, Windows says is can't find it and deletes it from the list).
5. Run the install again, it brings up the Maintenance dialog, choose "Delete".
6. After this last Uninstall it puts the entry back into Add/Remove Programs.

Could it be always putting the entry into Add/Remove programs even when uninstalling?

I found it, Sorry for the trouble. Somehow the End statement that matches the Else in "if REMOVE = TRUE" got moved above the Apply Install. I moved it back down where it should be and all is working now
