Hey
I use IA11 Developer.
I have an installation upgraded from IA version 9.
In my project, I use the patch method for new version.
Now I tried to add a new, which should be installed on the client's pc. But when the patch routine comes to the file, the enduser get's an error message: The file is not a content of the offline media.
When I create a single file and install this, everything works fine.
Please help. - THX
IA11, Patch with new file
Re: IA11, Patch with new file
Hi - what do you mean by "Now I tried to add a new"?
Did you add your old installation as a patch reference?
Did you add your old installation as a patch reference?

Hey
UUPSS.... - Sorry, there is a word missing!
I try to add a new file, which wasn't in the old installation at all.
Yes, a patch reference is set.

Re: IA11, Patch with new file
Could you describe the steps you took to create the patch? What exactly did you do?

Re: IA11, Patch with new file
Hey
What I did, was the following:
First, I created a main setup as a single file.
This file, I copied away in a special folder.
When I create a patch, I raise the version number, and I have set the patch reference to "main file in the special folder"
Normaly I just change the .exe file, which is in the setup routine since the first setup.
But now, I want to add a .dll file into a folder in myDocuments/$Title$
And so I drag/drop the new file from the explorer screen into the myDocuments/$Title folder.
This was basicly all, what I did, - But there I get the error described above.

Re: IA11, Patch with new file
That should have worked - could you please send your project to support at installaware.com?
