So does the uninstaller IGNORE all MessageBox calls??? So in my script in my last post what is really happening? Is it running all commands except the MessageBox calls? If this is the case one definitely wants to make sure you initialize variables for default actions. When Uninstall is selected in the command dialog (which it is by default in the remove old version section), REMOVE=ALL is passed to the uninstaller.
The uninstallation is definitely called, its just that you don't see the message box because the uninstall runs silently (no windows / dialogs).
Problem with reinstallation of software

Re: Problem with reinstallation of software
It doesn't ignore the calls, but when there is no window (when a silent setup is run) there is no where to display the message box..
Instead, you can try writing to files (instead of deleting them) or the registry to see if the uninstallation is running.
