During the Project Wizard, I selected 'uninstall only', since my app is a single EXE and I didn't want maintenance, and I want the simplest possible interface for my users. If there are 2 choices instead of 1, I get lots of support calls.
Anyway, despite choosing 'uninstall only', my app gets both the 'uninstall' and 'change' buttons in Add/Remove Programs (aka Programs and Features).
Worse, if a user clicks 'change', the app uninstalls, but the entry in Add/Remove programs isn't removed.
How do I suppress the 'Change' button from appearing. Why is it appearing in the first place despite my 'uninstall only' selection in the Project Wizard?

Does this help? It might give you a starting frame of reference.

Re: unwanted change button in Add/Remove Programs
Thanks for that link. I can confirm that I have the same issue. Here is my registry (under HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall):
Yet here is the option I chose in the Wizard, and I didn't change anything in MSI code:
Seems like a bug to me. And bad too, since when the user clicks 'change', it uninstalls without removing the reference from ARP. Do you concur?
In the meantime, I will add a line of MSICode to create this key.

Guys,
Thank for your input. We are aware of this, and the suggested work-around is indeed to add the registry key during the installation.
