Editing Variables

Post by ManishDev »

I am using InstallAware Studio 9 R2

I have a variables like -> $VENDOR$ & $VENDORURL$ <-- referenced all over my project

How do I change the values for these variables? I have looked all over the project and cannot find any way to do so.

I am a convert from Installshield, where there was a screen for modifying the values for all the variables in the project. Is there such a screen in InstallAware Studio 9 R2?

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

I am afraid there is no direct way to convert all the names within InstallAware.
That being said, here is what I usually do:
Open the .mia file that contains your variable with a text editor (even notepad will do).
Replace all instances of the old variable name with the new name and save - that does the trick!
