Hi,
I just upgraded my IA to version 12. It seems I have a problem to install my app on win 7. The installaware project is the same as I had with IA10. The installation is ok, but when I run my app in win 7, an error message saying "The procedure entry point DwmHintDxUpdate could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll."
I didn't have any problem with IA 10. Can anyone tell me what is going on and how I can fix this?
Any suggestion is appreciated!
Gene.

Gene,
Are you using any 3rd party plugins?

Re: Entry point ... couldn't be located in user32.dll.
Hi, Giaviv,
What are 3rd part plug-ins?
The project was upgraded from my previous IA9, IA10 project. It seems ok when I built and installed on a vista machine. When I install it on win 7 machine, the install was ok and I got the error when I ran it. This same application can be built with IA10 on vista, and install and run on win 7 without any problem. I checked the user32.dll file is in windows\system32 folder. Is anything I missed? I couldn't find out anything from the knowledge base.
Thanks!
Gene.

Gene,
Please try running the setup on a different Windows 7 machine - is that successful?

Re: Entry point ... couldn't be located in user32.dll.
Hi, Giaviv,
I did try to install the same setup file on a different win 7 system. It seemed that both win 7 systems have the same problem. I am not sure if I sure create a new project to make the install file from scratch instead of upgrading from the one I built in IA9. I will give a try. It seems that the problem I have is weird!
I will post back after I try that.
Thanks, Giaviv!

Re: Entry point ... couldn't be located in user32.dll.
It doesn't work with a fresh installation project!
I got the same problem when I ran my application that was installed from new-created installation project. It is weird! It did make the setup file on IA12 from a vista machine, but it couldn't run on win 7! The old version IA9 and IA 10 don't have that problem. What is the problem here? Should I try IA10 or IA11?

I don't think triyng 10 and 11 is going to make a difference - please try removing IA, reintsalling it, regenerating, redownloading, and reinstalling your license.
