Very large single file installs (> 4GB)

Hi,

I am currently evaluating InstallAware on Windows XP. I need an installer which is capable of generating very large installs (typically 6 GB) in a single EXE file.

It seems InstallAware 9 is having difficulties generating single file installs larger than 4 GB. "CD/DVD"-type install works fine.

When I build a 6 GB single file install, the build is successful but the resulting EXE does not work. The error is "Not a valid Win32 application".

I tried the following sizes :

• 600 MB: OK
• 1287 MB: OK
• 2174 MB: OK
• 4230 MB: NOT OK
• 6 GB: NOT OK

Is this a bug in InstallAware or I am doing something wrong?

I am currently having the same problem at the moment. My install is 4.71GB and it keeps popping this error.

I reduced the size under 4GB, and it worked as well.
