Hide Verifying and Preparing Screens

Post by johnbitner »

I want to disable the showing of the first 2 screens that show when I run my install. These screens mention verifying and then preparing the setup. I want to instead show my own initial splash screen or image. Look in the forum and help files and cannot find how to do this.

Is this possible?

This is not possible out-of-the-box. However, you could do the following:

1) Replace the very first initial self extraction screen with your own self extractor. To do this, you will need to create your own self extractor and repack the self-extracted files into it for the particular build type you are using.

2) Specify a custom splash bitmap on the second setup loading screen.

3) Change the texts for both the initial self extraction and the second setup loading screen using the localization tools.

Creating your own self-extractor isn't a great option in any case, but it's not even possible for GP installs, which must use Compressed Single EXEs.

We need to be able to hide this extraction progress dialog, as it only takes a fraction of a second and flashes the screen. I've had clients complain about this.
