Problem Installing .NET Framework 4 with IA11
When my installer goes through checking the prerequesites it tells me that it's going to install
.NET Framework 4 (x64)
.NET Framework 4 Client Profile (x64).
But while it is installing I get this error
"Error while initializing fusion."
Any ideas what is wrong?
I'm installing it on a Windows Server 2003 R2 x64

But while it is installing I get this error

Hi,
Please try running the binary files (inside InstallAware\runtimes\net4bin_x64) on the target machines directly.
What error are you getting?

Re: Problem Installing .NET Framework 4 with IA11
first off I don't have he runtimes\net4bin_x64 folder
the filebag script points to \runtimes\netfx_extended_x64
I get
"Setup encountered an unexpected error in the package contents.
The package will not be installed.
Please contact your vendor for a new package."

Re: Problem Installing .NET Framework 4 with IA11
I've installed .NET 4.0 Clientframework (x64) and after that .NET 4.0 extended was installed sucessfully.
Why do I have to install both?

Frank,
That is just how .NET works - you have to install client before you install the extended version.

Re: Problem Installing .NET Framework 4 with IA11
That's not how IA9R2 works. You just need to select .NET 4.
Re: Problem Installing .NET Framework 4 with IA11
The runtimes that ship with IA 9 are different - i.e. it is a standalone installation of the entire .NET 4 package.
This was updated in later versions of IA and now consist of the client and the extended versions.

Re: Problem Installing .NET Framework 4 with IA11
managed to figure out what's wrong.
What you need to do is make sure you include the data folder that gets created with you build your installer.
what I was doing was just transfering the installer and not the data folder, once I included the data folder it worked properly.

For us the 2 packages always lead to installation problems, we need to uninstall and to use the std microsoft .net 4 package

Dear User,
I don't know to which version are you referring to ... but I am sure that with InstallAware 15 you should not be having any problems.
