Problem with Minimum Operating System check

Post by AH-NP »

Hi,

One of our customers can’t install our software.
The minimum operating system is set to Windows XP, the customer OS is Windows XP SP3, however, the setup stops with the message :
“Setup Error, This product requires at least Windows XP
Setup cannot continue”.
We checked the OS, the “winver” command returns :
version number 5.1.2600
This seems to be correct.

What else can we check on the OS to help our customer to install our product ?
Thanks

Hi,

So the version appears to be 5.1. What exactly is the check that the setup fails on? What are you checking 5.1 against?

Hi,

We've only set in Design, Application Information / Application requirements / Software Requirements :
Minimum Operating System "windows XP"
It works for all of our customers, so I think that there is a problem with the customers OS.
So I'd like to know what IA checks on the computer when Minimum Operating System is set to "windows XP".

Thanks

Yeah gets the OS level (which is a number) and checks if it is equals or greater than 5.1..
