Extract 7zip question

Postby ckaware » Thu Dec 01, 2011 9:20 am

Hello,

So if I include the Extract 7ZIP archive action, it will display the progress of the files being extracted during install time, but it doesn't populate the db for uninstallation of the files being installed.

Is this by design or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

What exactly do you mean by "populate the db"? Which database?

It doesn't populate or register the files extracted/ installed with Windows Installer. The uninstaller removes the shortcuts, files it dropped, but files that "extract 7ZIP" installed are not removed.

Correct, but the files are in a temporary folder.

I'm talking the files in the target folder of extract 7Zip Archive not the temporary folder content.
file.7zip contains files a,b,c
a,b,c are installed to TARGETDIR with extract 7zip archive
uninstall program
a,b,c are still in TARGETDIR

Hi,

I am afraid that using Extract 7zip Archive, you would have to manually delete your files upon uninstall.
