Hello
I try to install the MySQL ODBC driver for Win 64bit.
Install ODBC Driver D:\Sources\myodbc\64bit\lib\myodbc5.dll as MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver
The driver.dll is
D:\Sources\myodbc\64bit\lib\myodbc5.dll
the setup dll is:
D:\Sources\myodbc\64bit\lib\myodbc5S.dll
Attributes are:
DRIVER=myodbc5.dll
SETUP=myodbc5S.dll
When installing there is an ODBC driver installation error (system errorcode 193)
Any idea why not working on 64 bit windows?
regards
Hans
Install ODBC Driver problem on 64bit
Re: Install ODBC Driver problem on 64bit
I have seen now that the ODBC driver and all registry settings will be done in the Wow6432Node .
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver
But why? For the 4 bit driver this should be the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver
Why does IA use this Wow6432Node in 64bit?
I check if system is 64bit
if Variable OS64BIT Equals FALSE
... do 32 bit ODBC installation
else
Install ODBC Driver D:\Sources\myodbc\64bit\lib\myodbc5.dll as MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver
MessageBox: ODBC 64bit, Installing ODBC for 64bit to $NEWLINE$$NEWLINE$$PROGDIR$\myodbc
Write Registry Key HKLM\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources\Test, MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver
Write Registry Key HKLM\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\Test\PORT, 3306
Write Registry Key HKLM\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\Test\DATABASE, testdb

Re: Install ODBC Driver problem on 64bit
Hi,
Please try setting the installer to 64 bit by calling the Set 64 Bit Mode command - does that fix the issue?

Re: Install ODBC Driver problem on 64bit
Hi Giaviv,
<<Please try setting the installer to 64 bit by calling the Set 64 Bit Mode command
I do this at the beginning of the IA script. First of all I check which Operating system and if 32bit or 64bit
If 64bit = true
then I do a Set x64 command.
Is this not enough to do this once? Do I need to do a Set x64 command twice before writing to registry?
regards

Hi,
In that case, please try setting 32 bit mode before - does that help?

Re: Install ODBC Driver problem on 64bit
Hi Giaviv,
I now had success when I do an additional Set x64 command before Write Registry
The the correct registry is used.
But, at the beginning of the setup I do a Set x64
..
If 64bit = true
Set x64
..
Why is this not enough for the complete setup?
Why setting 32 bit mode?giaviv wrote:Hi,

Hi,
That's fine - as long as it works as you want it to!
