I was starting to think it was because I was using the trial - but checking the website shows that it should be a full demo.
My list of bugs so far:
1. license.rtf - despite being in the Support Files - is being ignored
2. readme dialog is always shown despite being commented out in the script
3. Fails to import a simple NSIS script with an unintelligible complaint about " is not an integer - no clue given where the problem is in the script.
4. Does not accurately replicate the folder structure specified (a critical file extension is removed from the top-level folder)
5. Does not create shortcuts specified
6. Does not complain about a misconfigured install project (as things I've asked to be done aren't done)
I went with InstallAware because it was the first installer maker that didn't die trying to parse our app folder hierarchy. But I have to say the NSIS installer is way more effective at doing our install - all it lacks is MSI support - but I can cleanly install our app in about 20 lines of scripting. I've spent days trying to get InstallAware to do something similar so I can get MSI compatibility.
Quite disappointed and hoping someone will show me I'm doing it wrong.
Thanks,
Robert.

Re: Evaluating product and running into lots of bugs
Hi Robert,
Could you please attach a minimal reproducing project for these issues?
That will help us narrow the problems down so that we could fix them.
