Create Web Block For Conditional Download

Not sure how to do this:

I have a base application, MyApp.exe that I want to create the installer for - the application contains a PDF reader and a bunch of language specific files.
The Application is localized into English and French.
I want to create installer for the PDF files with nothing more then a progress bar - MyPdf_English and MyPdf_French.
I'd like these installers to become downloadable / executable parts of my application's installer.

So the sequence in the MyApp installer would be:

Begin install
If Language == English, then download and run the MyPdf_English installer (or if French, than get the other installer)
Continue with MyApp install until complete.

I've created separately the MyPdf_English and MyPdf_French installers, but I'm not sure how to include these with the language check in the MyApp installer.

How do I do this?

Dear Tia,

just place your code inside a conditional evaluation for predefined variable LANGUAGE.

Example:

if Variable LANGUAGE Equals ENGLISH
Comment: Place your code here for English language
end
if Variable LANGUAGE Equals FRENCH
Comment: Place your code here for French language
end

Please have also a look to Pre-Defined Variables in help docs (Press F1 in IA IDE)

LANGUAGE: Set to an empty string in non multi-lingual installs. In multi-lingual installs, holds the active language. Assign a new value to this variable to change the active language from within your setup script in multi-lingual installs.

Is there an example posted somewhere that shows how to create a web media block project?

I want to create an "English Document" package, a "French" package, etc. Within the installer, once the language has been determined, I want the appropriate package to be downloaded from my website (basically like the prerequisites) and run as part of the installation process. Or is there a better way within IA to do this?

Dear Tia,

Have a look to http://www.installaware.com/publication ... papers.htm and then the white paper "WebAware Installation Technology (Partial Web Deployment)", for web based install using Web Block.

Then also consider that you may just use the IA command "Download File", calling this conditonally in your script bvased your needs.
