Bonjour,
I am trying to add a "merge module" to my installation.
I have been provided with a ".msm" file that is supposed to install the drivers for the license key I am using. When I add this file using the "Merge Module" page in the "Project/Development" section, nothing happen in my installation.
Do I have to place the ".msm" file in a specific directory for it to work? Is this a stand-alone file, or does the ".msm" typically
access other files as well? (I have been provide with a sample ".msi" scrip to using the ".msm" and it seem to include a lot more files than just the ".msm"...)
I wanted to look at the ".msi", I saw a reference to a "Database Import Wizard", but I have no idea how to access that!
Merci,
Yves

Re: merge module
Dear Yves,
in InstallAware Merge Modules can be added only in that way. You can check if it has been added, with the presence of the merge module entry in the IA MSI Code view (just after Support File list in the left tree list).
If with this do not work, please try to use "Database Import Wizard" (just Press F1 in IA ide for help).
"It inspects the contents of the database, extracts and/or copies files from inside the database and/or source media, and then emits a ready-to-build InstallAware setup, complete with a customizable script. The Database Import Wizard provides a very easy way to import existing Windows Installer databases into InstallAware."
The tool it is available with InstallAware Admin Studio version only.
Hope this helps you.
