Upgrade setup
Upgrade setup
How to update exiting installation with a new build setup without removing the existing installation? I don't want to use Patch as i am facing issues with patch.

Re: Upgrade setup
Dear User,
For what I know, the ONLY way to do an upgrade without any form of uninstall, is called Patch.
InstallAware is capable to execute an upgrade using a "full" install, however in order to do this it will ALWAYS execute an uninstallation.

Re: Upgrade setup
Hi FrancescoT,
Suppose: We have deployed V1.0 on client machine.
For new Changes/Bug fixes we have released few patchs on V1.0.
After three or four patches on V1.0 we have released new build V2.0 (containing all the patches).
Now old clients have V1.0 (with all the patches) installed and new clients have V2.0 installed.
As per my understanding, for new changes we need to create two patches:- one for V1.0 and second for V2.0.
Is there any way so that exiting clients can upgrade from V1.0 to V.20 without re-install. So that we can have single patch for all the clients. Because we have lot of configuration settings that needs to configure in install time.
Please suggest a solution for this situation.
Thanks,
Harvinder

Re: Upgrade setup
Dear User,
Changing the product version causes that MSI recognizes the setup as new package and a complete uninstal - install it is always executed.
