Require all browsers closed
Require all browsers closed
Is there a way to require that all browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome) are closed during installation?

Re: Require all browsers closed
Probably you mean... if it is possible to close all the browser applications that are eventually open.
If true, InstallAware does not have a built in command to do it.
You could realize an external component to accomplish your task ... or maybe with a script using WIN API calls ... generally it is not done by forcing the application to close, but asking the user to close those before to continue.

Re: Require all browsers closed
Yes, that's much more elegant. Sometimes you see installers that indicate such-and-such application is still open. Please close them to continue. That's what I am after.

I don't have it to hand, but yes, there is a Windows API in the kernel.dll. You can call it to get the handle to a window using the window title. You can check for an invalid value to confirm if its open or not.
