Installing the InstallAware trial software for all users

Post by ccamp31 »

Hello,

We are trying to install a trial version of InstallAware on a workstation so a new employee can play around with it for training purposes (we have a licensed version on our build machine). Our users don't have local admin access to their workstations, so I logged in with an admin account to install it for him. Only thing is it doesn't seem to install for 'all users', so when he logs back in it appears as though it's never been installed.

Does a user have to have local admin rights to use InstallAware?

Dear User,

at least the user should have Power User privileges.

Anyway, during testing as debugging could be required to be an administrator to execute restricted task (registry, file system access and so on).

If you install IA as for All-Users the application should be available to all system users ... i have just tried and works fine.
