Hi!
Is it possible to show only the unzip dialog in an silent install?
The problem is that I start the installation half-silent (only progress dialog) from my updater application. The updater application is terminating cause it is updated, too. Now I have a very long time (while setup is unzipped) where no feedback is displayed to the user. What can I do?

Dear Alibaba,
you could do it initializing the Pre-Defined Variable "SILENT" as TRUE at very beginning of your main script.
In this way just the Initialization and decompression dialogs will be displayed.

Re: Show unzip dialog in silent install
Ah yes okay, I will start the setup with variable 'semisilent' and if this is passed then I will switch to silent as you suggested and later switch to non-silent to show only progress dialog and so on.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: Show unzip dialog in silent install
The only thing that is annoying in this approach is that the language selection dialog box is shown although the LANGUAGE parameter is already passed to the installation.
So again my question: why and for what reason InstallAware shows a language selction where it already got a parameter for it. Even InstallShield has this implemented since ages and I do not understand why this dialog would be neccessary...
I don't want to build an own language selection dialog. And I really hope that IA will finally fix this strange behaviour because until now it is not possible to really start an IA setup semisilent without reinventing the wheel.

Dear Alibaba,
probably I haven't enough clear your targets...
... you can disable the language selction dialog and with the LANGUAGE variable, you can set which localization to use (from those included in your setup).
Example:
Probably I'm wrong, but I don't understand which is the fix you are searching for.

Re: Show unzip dialog in silent install
I know that I can uncheck the "display language selection dialog box". But I want ONE setup that one can
(1)start standalone interactive where you have to select the language and
(2)semisilent: started by another application that starts the installation with the LANGUAGE parameter.
In general I want that the language selection dialog box is not displayed at all (even if activated in IDE) if I start the setup interactive (non silent) WITH LANGUAGE parameter. Because every time if I start an installation with LANGUAGE parameter the language selection dialog box is redundant and useless because I have already selected a language by passing the corresponding LANGAUGE parameter. And I don't want to built two setups, each for every install scenario (interactive/semisilent).
Hope you copy

Dear Alibaba,
I can't give you any aswer to your question actually.
I forwarded your note to our dev team but I can tell you anything if eventually it will be released.
Surely your request will be taken into serious consideration.
