Greetings,
I am hoping to get some help with a Runtime Error I keep encountering when I attempt to debug through the Apply Install command. I have a 32-bit application, that I am attempting to install on a 64-bit system (not sure if that even matters). When I attempt to install this without debugging, it hangs. When I debug, I have found that I get the error:
Runtime error in setup script:
Source File: <Application name>
Line Number: 498
Failed to set data for 'UninstallString'.
Could someone point me in the right direction for where I need to solve this? I am at a loss on where to begin.
Thank you!
Sheree

Re: Failed to set data for 'UninstallString'
Dear Sheree,
With wich OS are you using while debugging with IA?
Have you elevated InstallAware using Run AS (if UAC is active with the OS).

Re: Failed to set data for 'UninstallString'
Hi FrancescoT,
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I am running on Windows 7 Professional. I have used the Project Settings to set the UAC Elevation to "Always Elevate (requireAdministrator)". However I just realized that during debugging, I don't get the elevation dialog popping up when I go to try to debug. Does this trigger any thoughts?
Thanks
Sheree

I missed the last part of your message on Run As. I have not. I am trying this now. Will let you know if I have success. *crossing fingers*
Thank you!

Thank you Thank you Thank you! I didn't realize that I had to Run As Administrator on Installaware. I thought it was always elevated.
Thank you So much !
