I have a program, built in MSFT Visual Studio for the x86 target platform.
If I install this program on my Windows 7 computer using the Visual Studio Setup installer the program gets put into the c:\program files (x86) folder and it runs fine.
If I use my InstallAware project to install this same executable on the same Win7 computer it gets put into the c:\program files folder and crashes in a way that makes me think the system thinks it is a native x64 program.
Is there a setting I need to set to make this probram get installed as a native x86 program?
Additional Information:
If I Install using the Windows installer, in the registry a node is created under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Sofware\Wow6432Node that points to my executable.
If I install using the InstallAware installer this node is created under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software.

Re: Installing a native x86 executable on an x64 machine
Dear User,
I suspect that probably exist someting wrong with your settings,
... probably you used an unwanted call to "Set x64 - Native 64 bit Windows, - installation mode".
If you create a project from scratch using any available win32 project template (as Basic template for example), the package will be installed as NATIVE 32 by default. Without any other modification to project settings at all, on x64 targets this will point to "c:\program files (x86)" as TARGETDIR and to "Wow6432Node" ,for any registry operation under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Which template have you used with your project?
Regards
