File association set only for installing user

Post by tzachk »

Hi Support,

In my project I'm setting file association to be used with a specofoc executable.
When installing, the file association works as expected.
However when a different user log in (not the user that installed the software) the file association is not set for him.

Any idea on how to solve this?

Regards,
T.

Dear tzachk,

I have just tried the same and works fine. The file association is correctly available with all system users.

Are you sure that you using the correct required parameters with file association?
Have you tried to import an existing one on your development machine, to see how parameters are entered?

Hi Francesco,

I didn't know there are special settings for all users in File Association.
I simply follow the file association form in InstallAware.

I'll try again.

Dear Tzach,

I did not say that there are "special settings" for all user file association.

I only said;
