I have a user in the field that is reporting the aforementioned error message. They are running XP Pro SP2. They recieve the Access Denied message immediately after clicking the setup executable.
The messagebox is defintely generated by IA and has a titlebar of "Installaware Initialization Error".
The user downloaded the .exe from our website and ran it locally from their drive.
The setup was built with IA 5.1

I'm just guessing. I'd need to have more details on how the problem occurs first myself!
We had a user with a mapped desktop folder to a network share which they did not have access to and this caused problems. I'm guessing something similar might be going on.

Re: Installaware Initialization Error: Access Denied
I'm getting this with a v10 build. The installer *.exe i build gives me the Message box "Installaware Wizard" - "Access is Denied"
To add its happening only to the web deploy build but not the Single or Uncompressed installers.

Re: Installaware Initialization Error: Access Denied
midnightSun,
On what OS are you testing/building?
If you build a setup based on the "Native Setup" template, does that produce the error as well? (I didn't for me)
If so, it sounds like something in your [test] environment is the cause.
If not, then something in your code must be producing this and we should be able to isolate the problem there.
