Hello Guys,
when installing one of our software products, I want to delete the cache files from older versions.
They are in appdata. So I tried the function "Recursively Delete Files" with native_engine=true and without.
But nothing happens. The folder with subfolder and files are still exist.
How can I remove everything? The best thing would be to delete the whole folder.
Set Variable native_engine to true
Recursively Delete Files $MYAPPDATA$MIK
Recursively Delete Files $MYLOCALAPPDATA$MIK
Set Variable native_engine to false
Recursively Delete Files $MYAPPDATA$MIK
Recursively Delete Files $MYAPPDATA$MIKbis
Recursively Delete Files $MYLOCALAPPDATA$MIK
end
Recursively Delete Files not working

Dear User,
I really suppose that you are not using the command correctly.
Please have a look at the attached project that demonstrates how this works.

Re: Recursively Delete Files not working
Okay I understand. But how can I delete folders from the system?
we have different folders in APPDATA which are cache files from older versions.
But I do not know the filenames and directories as they are dynamically created
e.g
%appdata%\MIK\MIKBIS\RepCache\b6f43derwhnmdk\po987unmnbh\ and then all the files
How can I remove this one ?

Re: Recursively Delete Files not working
Dear Heiko,
what is the application that created those files?
Probably I'm really missing the sense of the question, but if those files are created by your installed application, you are the only one that can give an answer to your question. I can only suppose that you should implement in your application a convenient to way to keep track of those files in order to delete them later.
