Hello Guys,
on the destination dialog I want to add a new edit-object for customers,
who wants to install own additional files. The first edit object is the normal TARGETDIR (Installation folder).
How can I have a second button which writes the selected folder into OWNFILES-Variable and not TARGETDIR.
Ok I can just have an edit-object and it will work, but I want also a folder selection for OWNFILES that.
The Button action "select target folder" only writes into TARGETDIR
Please help
thanks

Re: Choose 2 Targetdirfolders on 1 Dialog
Thanks for the example it looks like it does what I need. However,
1. This is a pretty convoluted way of performing a basic function, are there plans to improve this?
2. Needing to download a rar file from an off topic thread to get my answer is even more indirect than the solution itself. I'm sure you would lose the vast majority of the criticism of your product if you improved your documentation. World class software with kindergarten level documentation is a crime against software developers everywhere.
3. I only seem able to open one Installaware project at a time, only one dialog for edit at a time. As such documentation by an example projects means I have to open the project, memorize how it is written close it, then open my project and recall the solution from memory. Really?
"But Mr Dent, the plans have been available in the local planning office for the last nine months."

Dear keefie,
Maybe I'm wrong, but seems to me that with any of your replies exist a continuous and latent attitude to exacerbate each discussion.
I do not know which is exactly is your personal experience with developing and even with deployment tools.
You complain of being able to solve your needs only through an "Indirect" example from an off topic thread.
I don't which is the context you are used to move to obtaint informations about a possible development solution, but a place as it is our forum where you can have a really active users community, where you can find and share samples ... honestly, I do not understand how this can generate in you so much trouble.
I'm basically a developer and I used and use, a very large numbers of tools due my job. I can assure you that I would pay to have a community where can I obtain such informations for any of the tools I use, instead of loosing hours of my time searching with google.
Obviously, as everything in this world anything can be done better and even InstallAware, that it is part of this world, can be improved to become an even more and more powerfull product. I repeat I don't know which is your skill with setup authoring tools, but have you tried to the same using a competitor product that comes with a World class documention? Personally I have and for some long time in the past.
We will be happy to give you the best support that we can offer from our "kindergarten" perspective, but I may ask you to not continue with this kind of attitude for any reply you intend to publish in future on our forum.
Regards.
