Very weird problem
Re: Very weird problem
Will this be fixed in 9 R2 or 10?
Re: Very weird problem
It's not in 9r2 nor the initial release of 10. I don't have a definitive time frame for this.

Re: Very weird problem
Hey there Andy - any news on this? I am waiting to purchase a new version of InstallAware but it hinges on this functionality.

Dear Chris,
This hasn't been formally fixed however I would advise downloading 10.10 an trying it out - it might have been fixed indirectly.

Aviv - thank you - I will do that. Just need to setup a VM to run it.

Re: Very weird problem
HI Support, I am having the same weird error messages and I've tried most of solutions posted here. I've read a lot of Forum links to others having this error and read a lot of "Try this - try that" and so I checked all these possible errors in my installer as well. If this is a bug with InstallAware, then seriously??? ...this is 2013, now, and I'm using InstallAware NX (build 10.02.12)
What I don't understand is why my one project works but my second project does not. They both use the same Web Media Block to the same file ("microsoft windows installer 3.1.7zip") located on our FTP server. I even tried copying the script from the working installer project but it still gives me the same error: "Download of installation data from the web has failed...".
Here is my Web Media Block Name:
microsoft windows installer 3.1
Download Urls listing:
microsoft windows installer 3.1.7zip
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/downloads/Common ... /microsoft windows installer 3.1.7zip
Getting this error message tells me that it is ignoring the fact that the file exists locally.
I can paste the second URL directly into the web-browser and the file downloads successfully.
I can even run my installer successfully on a clean machine, but if I uninstall, and re-install, it fails giving me the above error message. It never works again after the first time!
Any ideas as to what is going on? Why should it work the first time but fail the second time and every time after that??
Hope you can help!

Re: Very weird problem
Dear User,
Could you please try with placing the WEB MEDIA Block under the same folder of your setup exe and then with running your package?
This In order to isolate any possible problem caused by the package download.

Re: Very weird problem
Thanks Francesco,
I have the zip files located in the same folder as the setup.exe but it still gives me this error. Is it ignoring the PREREQ flag under the "Install Application Pre-Requisites" region? Because the requisites had been installed from the previous installation.

Re: Very weird problem
Ok, SOLVED
...I found my problem ...I had added a new file to be installed but for some reason the file got placed OUTSIDE (just above) the defined OFFLINE CONTENT region. I guess this really confused the compiler. Not sure how it got placed there, but anyhow, my installer is working again, now. Phew!
