I searched the forum and found an entry:
http://www.installaware.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=2&t=630
This said to enter 'Logged Execution' in Help. I did this and the guidance said to use <setup.exe> /l=<path to logfile> from a cmd prompt.
So, I tried: mywebinstaller.exe /l=mylog.log
The installer failed, as expected, due to a problem accessing my http server for one of the web media blocks.
However, I didn't get a log. So I assume I have misunderstood the Help.
I would be grateful if I could be directed to where logging a web install is explained.

Re: How can I log a web install?
Dear John,
you already have the answer to your question.
<setup.exe> /l=<path to logfile> * Path to log file = It means exactly "Path to log file" ... and not "File name" as you used.

Re: How can I log a web install?
Dear Francesco
I think most applications would interpret that as 'use current directory'. I tried "/l=.\install.log" out of curiosity, but no luck.
When I provided the explicit path for current directory it worked.
However, it only contains XML nodes. The reason I want a log is to see if I can find out why my installer with Web Media Blocks always fails at the end (100%) of extracting the <app-name>.7zip file.
I will raise that in a separate post.
Thanks, john

Dear Francesco
I just wanted to say that I found the logging very useful when I had a duifferent problem during the installation process.
