Dear SupportTeam,
I am using Installaware 11 (licensed) version and i am trying to create a web update for my application. i followed the steps given in the "installaware_web_updates" document but 'Schedule updates (similar to Windows Update)' not update the application features.
1. I have create a base build with the following details
Product Version - 1.0
Receive Application Updates - Checked
Monitor URL: http://VM1/IAUpdate/updates.ini
Schedule updates option is selected in Project Properties
Installed the base build in my testing machine and works fine.
2. I have update my application and create the new build with the following details
Product Version - 1.1
Receive Application Updates - Checked
Monitor URL: http://VM1/IAUpdate/updates.ini
Schedule updates option is selected in Project Properties
Create web update packs belongs the 'Web Updates' as like below
Update pack 1 - http://VM1/iaupdate/IAUpdate_1.0.exe
Create version for the update
Version - 1.1 - Update pack 1
when i run my application in the installed system, there is no pop-up or alert shown for the avilable update and also i have tried the same with the manual update option still i am getting the alert message as "Unable to contact update server for ....".
For your reference i have attached the screen shots. please find the attachment and kindly suggest me on this.

... in reality all the URLs you used seem not correct.
For example; did you try to directly type in your browser "http://VM1/iaupdate/iaupdate_v1.1.exe"?

Re: Installaware - Auto updates
Dear Francesco,
Yes, i have tried the URL in the browser, updated build is start download.
I have tried manual update option, when try to update the application using the update button in the installed system it prompt 'No updates are avilable for <application name> at this time, Please check back again later.'
when i use the schedule update option i did see any prompt / pop-up related to the schedule the update process. can you share any document or sample code for this update feature.

Dear Ravz,
... if I do the same with my browser it doesn't work. So for sure there is something wrong with your URL.

Re: Installaware - Auto updates
Dear Ravz,
it is an integrated IA feature ... nothing else it is required.
With the IA documentation is available a detailed description on how to enable and to use it ... just search for WEB UPDATES.

Re: Installaware - Auto updates
Dear Francesco,
I have downloaded IA 18 (trial mode) and checking the auto update feature.
- I have created main build (Ver 1.0.0) and installed in testing machine, its working. i have configured the scheduler for the updates through the IA.
- Copy the same build project (IA main build project) for patch (Ver 1.0.1) creation and configure the auto update features.
- when i login to the test machine its pop-up the update details and update the patch files in the test machine, its working.
- Copy the same build project (IA patch project) for next full build (Ver 1.1.0) creation and configure the auto update features.
- when i login to the test machine its pop-up the update details and shows Previous version uninstalling once completed the uninstallation start the new version (1.1.0) while installing shows the error message "downloading from the web has faild" refer the attached screen shot.
Please note, new version (1.1.0) files are places the same folder level of patch files.

Update ini file : C:\\IA18_Build\updates.ini
Patch : C:\\IA18_Build\updates\ver_1_0_1\test.exe

Re: Installaware - Auto updates
Dear Ravz,
I really suppose that the problem you are having, it has nothing to do with the WEB UPDATE process itself.
Instead, it is caused by the WEB MEDIA BLOCK used by your installer.
Try to rebuild all of them and then test the installer once again.
