I recall some of us have had problems with Avast previously where it detects the installation exe as a false-positive. I don't think there was a 100% successful resolution except to test your exe on a machine where there's no anti-virus suite running or installed. Something I also recall was to notify the anti-virus company to remove the false-positive from their list of known signatures but that's possibly easier to say than to achieve. I really don't think it's anything to do with X3 directly.
