InstallAware Branding Removal

Postby skibbs » Thu Jun 15, 2006 5:13 pm

Hello,

How can I remove the InstallAware branding on the title bars of the dialogs? I have removed all references within the dialogs, now I just need to clean up the title bar.

Thanks!

From what I have uncovered searching through the forums, it doesn't appear to be possible unless it was recently changed in 6.0, right?

Thanks

And what exactly is the problem for it appearing there?

Exactly, I load a ton of software from major publishers that use that "Other" installer and they are all branded.

The problem? Simple - as a software publisher I want my products to be mine and to convey a professional experience. I don't want to advertise for the companies from which I purchased my development tools. The title bar on my main app window doesn't have "- Microsoft Visual Studio" appended to it, for example.

As a note to the IA Marketing group, you should be focusing more on targeting your market awareness efforts more effectively to developers, not the end users who run installers based on your technology.

I agree with rtomsmith. It's my application, and the install should show my company name and product name. I don't want it to advertise InstallAware. I always hated that InstallShield made me do this. I was hoping that IA would be a little more flexible.
