I developed my install project on my development machine, and now I am in the process of moving it to our automated build machine. I am trying to build it from the commandline, but for some reason, it is trying to find the files in the exact path that exists on my machine.
Of course I was working in a folder with a different name than where the build will run from on the build machine. I assumed that it was adding the files using relative paths only. Is this not the case?
This is a big deal because our commandline build process must be able to run from any folder location. For example, we have the following two trees:
Product Name
| ...
|- Version
| ...
|- Install
|- (here is where my IA project files are)
|- (here are my Application's files)
Product Name
| ...
|- Version *NIGHTLY*
| ...
|- Install
|- (here is where my IA project files are)
|- (here are my Application's files)
I must have missed a setting or something.
Install Files doesn't use relative paths??

Those tree's didn't keep their formatting. Its more like this:
Product Name
| ...
|- Version
....| ...
....|- Install
........|- (here is where my IA project files are)
........|- (here are my Application's files)
Product Name
| ...
|- Version *NIGHTLY*
....| ...
....|- Install
........|- (here is where my IA project files are)
........|- (here are my Application's files)
Product Name
| ...
|- Version
....| ...
....|- Install
........|- (here is where my IA project files are)
........|- (here are my Application's files)
Product Name
| ...
|- Version *NIGHTLY*
....| ...
....|- Install
........|- (here is where my IA project files are)
........|- (here are my Application's files)

You should never use relative paths. Instead, use Compiler Variables. For instance, use #BUILDROOT# in all your Install Files commands to specify where the build root is. So for example:
#BUILDROOT#\\files\\folder\\data.txt
instead of:
c:\\my projects\\files\\folder\\data.txt
You can update all hard-coded paths in your project using the Project | Refactor Paths tool from the main IDE menu.
Then, when building on the build machine, you can just specify the value of BUILDROOT on that machine to miabuild.exe, and its all smooth sailing from there.
