Can't get SQL Plugin to work
Can't get SQL Plugin to work
I'm using the trial version of Installware 6.0. The problem is that I couldn't get the SQL Plugin to work. I tried to run your MSSQL sample and I received the same error - Connection could not be established. I've gone through the forum and could not get a solution to this problem. Help me out.

Make sure the server is accepting mixed mode authentication and allows network connections.

Can't get SQL Plugin to work
My server accepts mixedmode authentication and network connection is enabled, but still I still can't get it to work. The error is "Connection failed". Even your sample is given the same error. I'm using MSDE and SQL Server 2000.

Maybe you have firewalls or other items blocking successful connection?

Sql Server Plugin not working
I have no firewall. I'm running the installation on a stand-alone desktop, so network problem is excluded. Database setup during installation is vital to our project and that's why we are looking at this product.
I'm using dotNetFramework 1.1 with MSDE. It seems your plugin only works correctly with SQLExpress.

No, the plug-in was actually made available first back in the days of MSDE Many posts on this forum attest to the fact that it works. We have even had contributions from the community to install MSDE.
I'm sorry but with the limited information you have provided, there doesn't appear to be a way to troubleshoot any further. I would advise you to double-check all settings and to make sure that you don't have any anti virus or other software on your system that might be interfering.
