Error Installing Crystal Reports Runtime 2.0
Error Installing Crystal Reports Runtime 2.0
When trying to install Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0, I am getting an error telling me it cannot install and to visit the Business Object Site. Can someone tell me if they have seen this error and how where I can find information about solving it.
Maybe 64-bit and 32-bit have something to do with the error
Is there any way to tell installaware to check the processor or platform for 32-bit and 64-bit and then install something different? Does anyone have an example of this? I would rather make one install for everyone. I noticed the Crystal Reports (CR) msm on BO website has 2 different installs depending on whether the system is a 32 or 64-bit.
I hoping there is a solution, when I try to use the merge module with Installaware I get an error telling me it cannot install and to go to businessobject web site. Has anyone incurred a similar error? I know at one time you had to use ORCA and update something in the CR msm prior to placing in the install directory. We are using the standard CR delivered with VS.NET 2005.
Any reply would be welcome, thanks in advance.

Please see the Set 64 bit Mode command and the Get System Settings command with Windows in 64 bit Mode parameter for help with this.

So it looks like InstallAware do not really care about this problem. Poor me for thinking about buying the product I guess we will need to rethink using InstallAware....
The problem with Crystal .Net 2 setup is a fault in InstallAwares script that is added once you add the Crystal Run-time. Locate the Script “SetupCrystal”
Click on the row “Define File Bag :” Change the #IADIR# to the path to the Run-time. On my machine did the path to IA mismatch the true path.
I find it very disturbing that that Linuxman entered this question 19 May 2005, what's like two years ago and nobody at IA have found this problem or are the problem related to my computer?
So let’ s move on have to find a installer with support that fits the needs 2100 century developers that need fast answers.......You guys have a nice product but how can that help me when I need a fast answer?
