How to keep the TARGETDIR with specific folder value

Post by Edhy »

Hi All,

Let's say I want my installation to be installed in folder MyApplication, and just one to allow the user to change the drive, how can I accomplish that?

Right now, if I setup TARGETDIR to C:\\MyApplication, when I click the Change button to select the destination folder and choose another drive, only that drive is shown in the Install textbox, I want the user to just change the Drive and preserve the folder name MyApplication.

Thanks!

You can use a drive browser, pre-populate a list box with allowed drives, and then manually add the rest of the path after the drive has been finalized.

Also see a free plug-in on the forums here which reports information on a drive type (so you display only acceptable drives).

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the idea.

Is there something in IA that will help me get the list of drives available in order to populate the listbox? of is this something I need to do on my own?

There are two pre-built drive browser controls available with the dialog designer.
