I am localizing my test setup now. Everything works fine except:
If I select the language selector in the project properties the language of the OS is correctly preselected.
However, if I turn the language selector off the InstallAware Wizard always displays English text regardless of the OS language. My guess is that it picks the "Default language" setting which is English.
I expected that the "Default language" would be the fallback language.
Even if I do not display the language selector I expected InstallAware to set LANGUAGE to the OS language setting and only if a matching translation is not available it would set it to the "Default language".
Is this a bug or is my assumption wrong? If the behavior is by design how can I retrieve the OS language setting from the system and set LANGUAGE appropriately in my install script?
Thanks,
Peter
Default language selection
I can answer my own question if the described behavior is by design:
I can use Get System Setting Language to retrieve the OS language and then set LANGUAGE in script. (Unfortunately it does not return the language in English so that it cannot directly be assigned to LANGUAGE.)
Maybe there is a better way?
