Installaware 6.0
My installation includes some Dynazip DLL components which are registered. It all works fine on Windows XP.
A customer has just phoned to say that when he selects either menu option that uses these DLLs it reports OLE not registered.
He is using Vista Home.
Is there something in Installaware I need to be aware of, or does the problem lie elsewhere?
Sincerely
Stephen
PS I have today updated to 6.2, but this particular installation was done with 6.0
Vista and registering DLL components

Maybe if the installation was not elevated, this might have been occuring. I think the newest installers you build with InstallAware 6.22 will address this issue.

Totally metaphysical. The Windows Installer service needs to bless the MSI package, elevating it to higher planes of astral existence...
...where the MSI package can transcend the mundane physical bodily limitations of access rights, etc
So if the end user got a UAC prompt (techie term), he must elevate the package. If the end user is not an admin and did not get a UAC prompt, package will not be elevated and run without admin rights (not-blessed). This all assumes user has enabled User Account Control.
