Radio buttons on a custom dialog

Post by djm »

I created a custom dialog with 2 radio buttons for X and Y. If I double click on each of those to bring up the "object behavior" panel and enter in "Writes values to variable", SelectedX and SelectedY, respectively, the default checked/selected button is missing when I then run the install.

If I remove the "writes to variable" variables, the default check/selected button returns when I run the install.

In both cases, the checked/selected button is visible when in the dialog editor.

Why would adding a variable to this object cause the default selection to disappear during runtime(install)?

Solution: When adding variables in the object behavior, those variables themselves then have to be initialized to TRUE or FALSE regardless of the dialog's default.

Related question: When I initialize the variable to TRUE, no problems occur...the default radiobutton is selected on dialog popup. However, if the variable is initialized to FALSE, then the dialog pops up with neither radio button selected. How can I get the other (non-default) radio button to be selected on dialog popup?

By setting the other variable to TRUE.
