I have been attempting to use the "Transform Instance" command in an installer that I have that installs a web application. The installer works fine for the default instance however on subsequent attempts, after selecting to install a new instance, the installer is failing on each of the "Apply Install" commands in my code.
For instance the first thing that I try to do is to "Create Folder $TARGETDIR$", followed by an "Apply Install (get result into variable SUCCESS)". When stepping through the code in the debugger an error pops up saying Windows Installer Error Notification - Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. etc.
I am obviously doing something wrong but I don't understand what and the sample app isn't providing me with any clues.
What does seem to work is the new TITLE for the additional instances. I can see the instance names in ARP.
The code that fails is not inside the "if Variable TRANSFORM Equals YES" block if this makes a difference. This did not seem to be a requirement in the sample multiple installation project.
Using a trial version of Installaware V6 at the moment to see if it works where v5 didn't.
Thanks
Graeme

If you can send a minimal project that illustrates this behavior, we can escalate to r&d once I can verify the issue.
