Multiple Installs

Post by ktgdesign »

I am not sure how to accomplish this or if InstallAware even can.

I have a list of directories - each directory is a client - and is named firstname-lastname - ie. John-Doe.

In the directory are several html files, vcf, rtf and txt

I need an install created for each client and saved into their directory.

For each person I need an install created that will take 4 files from their directory - three files will always start whe same first 8 characters and the 4th file is always name the same thing.

I would like to be able to run all the installs at once

Having an install created for each person that will have their indivdual information.

Can this be done - and what product do I need to do it. I only have express rigth now.

Before I update or hire someone I really need to know that it can be done. I don't want to get into a project paying someone only to find out they couldn't find a way to do it!

Simple - just send our sales account an email, saying that you need consulting, provide very detailed specifications on what you want to achieve, a project document if possible. Then, sales will get back to you with a quote on how many hours are required to implement your requirements. At that point, all you have to do is just place the consulting order and the order for Studio Admin.

OK - I have a current install built in Express - I have no idea what file to send you so you can see what I have now and get a better understanding of what I need. Can you tell me which file from my current install to attach?

You want to compress your entire project folder (without subfolders) and send the whole package.
