silent installation using SMS(System Management Server)

Hi

My setups break when called through Microsoft Systems Management Server(SMS) with error code 2343 (unexpected error while installing this packet)
Has anybody got a clue what could the reason be?
Calling the setup with the switch /s works like breeze outside sms!

That means path is empty - so probably one of the paths used in your setup is turning up empty when used with SMS. Very strange!

There were some problems with common folder locations on Server 2003 which are fixed in the latest build, I'd give that a shot.

If it still doesn't work, use logging to find which path fails, and we'll take it from there.

How do you enable logging?

From the command line run your setup in the following way:

mysetup.exe /l=<logfile>

where mysetup.exe is your installer file and logfile.los is the file to write the log to.
