Font installation under Vista?

What's recommended for font installation in Vista? In my tests, it appears that the Font Installer plugin fails silently when run by a Standard User in Vista, with no prompt to escalate. If I mark my installer as requiring Admin rights, then it correctly prompts to escalate. Am I doing something wrong? I thought that escalation was supposed to be automatic, even for Standard Users?
