maintenance dialog

Post by AH-NP »

Hi,

I have customized the maintenance dialog, and delete the "modify" option.
The default selected option is the "delete" option.
If I remove the program from the add / remove panel, in the maintenance dialog the delete option is the default choice.

If I run the setup (after a first install), the same maintenance dialog is called, but, no options are checked.
If I create a radio button with the modify option, this is the default checked option ...
What can we do to have always the "delete" option checked ?

Thanks

In the MSICode view right before the Maintenance dialog displays set the variable REMOVE=TRUE, and set REPAIR = FALSE

Hi all,

I'm having the exact same problem as the original poster, but setting REMOVE=TRUE, REPAIR=FALSE, and MODIFY=FALSE just before displaying the maintenance dialog does not solve it. Here's how my code looks:

Code: Select all

label: Maintenance
Comment: Maintenance Install/Uninstall
wizard loop
  Set Variable REMOVE to TRUE
  Set Variable REPAIR to FALSE
  Set Variable MODIFY to FALSE
Display Dialog: maintenance, wait for dialog to return (modal)
Display Dialog: startinstallation, wait for dialog to return (modal)
end
When I run the installer after having already installed the product, the maintenance dialog is displayed but no radio button is checked. Here's where it gets interesting - if I launch the installer from the command line, like this:

Code: Select all

Setup.exe REMOVE=TRUE
then the Remove radio button is checked when the dialog is displayed. Any idea why setting it from the command line really sets it, but setting it from within my MSICode just before displaying the dialog doesn't have the same effect?

Hi, can someone help answer this question? Is there a way to force the remove option to be default?

Many thanks,

Found it. Just set the variables before the 'wizard loop'. Reading IA documentation helps :)
