Delete Files Command Not Working

Postby spbrady » Wed Jul 25, 2007 3:11 pm

Hello,

I am trying to use the delete files command:

Delete Files C:\\Temp\\WCTest.txt (When installing)

It does not delete the file...just continues onto the next line.

What am I doing wrong, or am I not understanding this command?

What command should I use to delete a temporary file?

Thanks for the help

Please read the help file topic "Setup Commands Preceding Apply Uninstall" for a discussion and explanation of this behavior.

Repeated Questions

Postby SteveDude » Wed Jul 25, 2007 4:30 pm

Just a suggestion, I see many of the same questions asked over and over again, this being one of them (I'm just as guilty as anyone, especially when first started using IA). Maybe you guys should add a new common questions or FAQ's section to the forum. Maybe even make it read only so people can skim through it quickly. I know a lot of it is in the help files, but some of it requires a bit of digging and who reads help files? :)

I wonder, if it could be possible by IA to catch those commands that will not have any effect when use before the Apply Install command in the build process and generate an error/warning.
