Using mathematics function: Result is no integer

Post by mayita »

Hi
Can somebody tell me if there is a solution for the following problem: I want to inform the user of my setup how much space there is available on TEMPDIR (get environment variable %TEMP%, %TMP%) since a compressed setup is executed. It is a matter of fact that IA needs to decompress first the setup before executing it. So I intend to provide the available disk space. Here are my questions:
Is there a way to automize it, means: is it possible to provide the information to the user how much space IA needs? (Supposes that IA knows its own file size in the uncompressed state..)
I tried it at least with the mathematics function but I failed beacuse I get an empty string back (The result out of "check diskspace TEMPDIR" does not return an integer value, why not?? )

Need help. Thanx a lot.

Mayita,

This is checked automatically by IA. However, the space needed in the temp folder is the same space required to install the application. In other words, IA only extracts the files temporarily to copy them to the target folder. If you want to report this to the user, use the static text control as the componetstree does.
