Serial Validation

I am unable to find enough documentation to make this work.
1. I am wanting to generate a serial key.
2. I have turned the compiler option keygen to True.
3. Where is out put key generated to so i can use it in the install.
4. Exactly how does this work?

It generates a random serial key based in the Username and Organization inputted by the user. This means that when you generate the serial, the input values must match the ones the user enters. If you want the serial to be constant, change the input values from the user for constant values.

Thanks for the info.

Problem: I am now able to generate a serial number. I have added a constant rather than using the user and company fields. This works fine and I am able to generate the ID whether I change the user or company fields. It is consistent.

The problem is that the serial number that is generated does not work on the install???

any ideas?
