Error: \"Setup resource decompression failure\"

Post by SystemSmith »

I created a project using InstallAware Express. I then followed the instructions to copy that project (and all of the subfolders) three more times.
Using my text editor I edited the mia and mpr files so that each one had a unique project name.

I revised the three other projects to include the proper executables and components.

The original setup works: the other fail with "Setup resource decompression failure".

I have attached a zip file that contains all 4 mia and mpr files. The project FcartMnt is the first on created, the other three were cloned from it.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Try doing the following:

1.- Make sure these files are in all your project folders:
comdlg32.msm
msvbvm60.msm
sysinfo.msm
r_32.ico

2.- Uncheck and check again the Windows Installer 2.0 runtime in all your projects that are failing.

That should sove your problem.

I am receiving the same error when I try to run my self-extracting installer. And this is happening on Vista Home Premium. It doesn't happen on XP Pro SP2.
